Chevron Launches Major Recruitment Drive

Chevron Australia has launched a major recruitment drive in Australia for hundreds of engineers required to work on two of the country’s largest energy projects.

Chevron Australia managing director Roy Krzywosinski said this is an exciting time to join the energy industry in Australia. “Chevron is developing two of Australia’s largest natural gas projects in Western Australia and this recruitment drive is searching for experienced and talented Australian engineers to be the future of our energy industry.

We have a range of interesting and challenging career opportunities for people wanting to work on Australia’s most complex and exciting energy projects, as well as work for a global company who offers global opportunities,” said Krzywosinski.

Successful candidates can expect to receive the support and tools needed to set them up for success on an exciting career path, not to mention a competitive remuneration package.

Chevron will hold 14 recruitment information sessions throughout Australia between 13 February and 7 March to identify talented and experienced facilities engineers across a range of disciplines, including civil, structural and subsea engineering.

Successful applicants will work across Chevron Australia including on the company’s two major Australian Projects, Gorgon and Wheatstone with opportunities to be offered in Perth, on Barrow Island and Onslow – as well as overseas, with elements of the projects in Asia, Europe and North America.

Gas to Liquids

The volatile oil price has had a dramatic impact on the Gas to Liquids market and some large-scale projects’ operators have struggled to adapt to this unsteady landscape. Over the last 12 months, we have witnessed a few promising projects halt or even shut down altogether. However, whilst some doors have had to close, other doors are opening with interesting emerging markets on the new GTL field. A few companies have discovered ways to significantly reduce operating costs and prove to be commercially viable despite the current economic climate.

Against this backdrop, SMi’s 19th annual Gas to Liquids conference will discuss how GTL companies can work with the tumbling oil price and how they can build robust strategies and create effective alternative solutions to enable them to weather the storm. The programme will have a special focus on small-scale GTL projects, giving you the chance to hear first-hand success stories from leading GTL operators. The two-day event will provide the ideal platform for experts to discuss with peers what companies need in place in order to overcome today’s challenges, with leading industry figures dissecting cutting edge topics, including project financing, marketing of GTL projects and innovative alternative applications of GTL plants.
