China, the world’s biggest energy consumer, imported 1,21 million tons of liquefied natural gas in June, up 16 percent compared to a year earlier, customs data showed.
In January-June, cumulative LNG imports came to 6,7 million tons, up 29 percent compared to the same period last year.
The country imported 1,14 million tons of LNG in May.
