90% of all goods transport operations worldwide are carried by sea. A whole range of new criteria and conditions are currently being developed to make shipping more environment friendly. Implementation of these regulations is right at the top of the agenda of the maritime industry.
Following the successful launch of the global maritime environmental congress (gmec) in 2010, a second summit will be held on 3 and 4 September 2012, on the occasion of SMM, the world’s leading maritime industry trade fair. gmec 2012 creates a platform to show present and future challenges for the maritime industry, and to discuss appropriate options in order to follow new regulations and achieve new targets.
gmec 2012 is hosted by Hamburg Messe und Congress (HMC), and brings together leading international speakers from all the key sectors of the maritime industries. They will discuss the challenges for the maritime industries in development of green technologies to ensure sustainable, environment friendly trade. Join in the discussions.
