The Netherlands is expected to receive a cargo from Cheniere’s Sabine Pass liquefaction plant in Louisiana, the second-ever US LNG cargo produced from shale gas to reach the country.

The 173,400-cbm Ribera Del Duero Knutsen is scheduled to arrive at the Dutch Gate terminal in the port of Rotterdam around October 6, according to the marine data provider, VesselsValue.

The vessel loaded a cargo at Sabine Pass and left the liquefaction facility on Thursday, the data shows.

Gate terminal, owned by Gasunie and Vopak, received its first US LNG cargo on June 8 aboard the 140,000-cbm Arctic Discoverer.

This was the first ever cargo of US LNG to land in Northwest Europe.
