USA: DOE Approves Additional Exports from Freeport LNG Terminal

The U.S. Energy Department (DOE) said that it has conditionally authorized Freeport LNG Expansion FLNG Liquefaction to export additional volumes of domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) to countries that do not have a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States from the Freeport LNG Terminal in Quintana Island, Texas.

Another LNG Order for DSME of South Korea

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) of South Korea has secured a USD 200 million order to build a 173,400 cbm LNG tanker, DSME said in a statement.

USA: DOE Approves Two LNG Export Applications

The U.S. Department of Energy has approved Advanced Energy Solutions (AES) application to export liquefied natural gas produced from domestic sources in an amount up to the equivalent of 8 Bcf/yr of natural gas for a 25-year period.

Yemen: Navy Destroys Boat Approaching Balhaf LNG Port

Yemen’s navy fired upon and destroyed a suspicious boat that was approaching the Balhaf LNG export terminal on Wednesday, according to local media reports.

EU Commission Rewards Gothenburg LNG Project

Two projects in Sweden have been considered sufficiently important to merit inclusion in the EU list of infrastructure projects that are of common interest for the European Union (PCI, Project of Common Interest). One of the projects is the LNG Terminal in Gothenburg that Swedegas and Vopak plan to build in collaboration with the Port of Gothenburg.
