American LNG files for export permit with DOE

American LNG Marketing filed an application with the DOE seeking long-term, multi-contract authorization to export up to 3.o2 bcf of gas per year from domestic resources.

American LNG is seeking export authorization for a period of 20 years from a proposed natural gas liquefaction project under construction on the northern portion of the Hialeah Railyard in Medley, Florida. Application is for export authorization to FTA and non-FTA countries.

Once completed, the Hialeah facility will have a total production capacity of 100,000 gallons of LNG per day or 8.26 MMcf of natural gas, stands in the filing. The storage capacity of the facility will be approximately 270,000 gallons.

American LNG intends to primarily sell LNG for use as a transportation fuel by both the railroads and motor vehicles in the U.S., the Caribbean and Central America. It also intends to sell LNG for use in electric generation facilities.

Liquefied natural gas would be delivered in ISO containers (truck or rail mounted).

The facility will be connected to domestic natural gas supply market through an interconnection constructed by Florida Gas Transmission.
