Clean Energy reports profit, LNG deliveries down

Clean Energy reports profit despite lower LNG sales

Clean Energy Fuels, one of the largest providers of natural gas fuel for transportation in North America, reported a rise in its first-quarter profit on the back of higher fuel deliveries.

The company posted a $2.8 million profit during the period in review compared to a $31 million loss in the corresponding quarter a year ago, according to its first-quarter report issued on Thursday.

Clean Energy’s revenue was at $95.8 million, a 12 percent increase from $85.8 million for the first quarter of 2015.

The company’s total gallons delivered, including compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas and renewable natural gas reached 77.5 million, a 3 percent increase compared to the 75.2 million.

Clean Energy delivered 15.4 million gallons of LNG in the first three months of this year, down from the 18.3 million delivered in the same period a year ago.
