Cyprus to Talk LNG Project Financing with Deutsche Bank

Representatives from Deutsche Bank are due in Cyprus on Thursday to meet the country’s Energy Minister, Giorgos Lakkotrypis, to discuss LNG terminal funding.

According to the Cyprus News Agency, visits from Deutsche Bank and European Investment Bank, anticipated in May, are a sign of the government’s plans to attract European investors to participate in the development of natural gas reserves through an onshore LNG project.

The LNG plant to be built in Vasilikos will initially process not only its own gas, but also the supplies from Israel and potentially Lebanon.
