Driftwood LNG files draft resource reports with FERC

Driftwood LNG on Wednesday filed draft resource reports 1 and 10 with the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for its proposed LNG export terminal in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana.

The filing of the reports is part of the pre-filing environmental review process for the 26 million tons per annum LNG export terminal.

Natural gas will be delivered to the LNG facility from existing interstate pipeline systems via a proposed new 96- mile-long pipeline that includes up to 15 meter stations and associated tie-ins at up to 13 sites and two compressor stations, Driftwood LNG said.

Marine facilities will be able to accommodate three LNG carriers with the capacity of up to 216,000 cubic meters, and the three storage tanks at the plant will have a capacity of 235,000 cbm.

The company, a unit of Tellurian LNG that was formed in February this year by former CEO of Cheniere Energy, Charif Souki and former COO and executive director of BG Group, Martin Houston, plans to file its formal application with FERC in March 2017.

It is also expecting to receive the authorization for the siting, construction and operation of the project no later than March 2018.

The construction is scheduled to begin by the second quarter of 2018 with an estimated schedule of seven years for the entire project. First production train is expected to be operational four years after the construction start, Driftwood LNG said in its filing
