Egypt has secured a single LNG cargo for delivery in late June after awarding a closed tender for one cargo to Noble Group.
Sources revealed to Reuters that Egypt invited Vitol, Trafigura and Noble Group to participate in the bidding, all companies that the country has previously signed LNG supply deals with.
All three companies won a share in Egypt’s first LNG supply tender worth $2.2 billion.
The country is planning to issue a second LNG supply tender that would see the former gas net exporter acquire 96 cargoes for the delivery from 2016 through 2017.
