In January we will once again host, with our partners, the Energy Council’s Gas to Power Congress. Held in Cape Town for the last 3 years with great success and considerable support from governments across sub-Saharan Africa, we have decided to expand our gas to power series to Singapore to allow us to focus on the opportunities within the Asian gas to power market.
With oil demand forecast to peak in the 2020s and with natural gas set to take over as the biggest global energy source in 2026, gas is set to play an increasingly important role in the global energy mix. Asia Pacific LNG demand is set to grow a further 60% by 2030, therefore positioning the region at the forefront of the global drive for the transition to reduced emissions gas-fired power production.
The Gas to Power APAC Congress will bring together regional government officials and senior representatives from regulators, upstream E&P companies, off-takers, developers, utilities, EPC companies, investors and financiers to discuss the development of gas to power across the region, examine the regulatory environment and government support for the sector vis a vis competitive energy sources, and the project development challenges faced by industry stakeholders in clarifying the legal, commercial and financial aspects to drive projects forward. The Congress provides an exclusive platform to examine both on-going and upcoming projects, to share recent successes and future strategies, and to discuss the emerging investment and development opportunities in the Asian market.
