International Project Owners, EPCICs, shipyards and solution providers from Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Australia, United Kingdom, Belgium, Norway and beyond will join forces at the World FLNG Congress 2014, to be held from 25 – 26 June at the Amara Sanctuary in Singapore.
Höegh FLNG, EXMAR, SBM Offshore, Poten and Partners, Societe-General, DSME, Hyundai Heavy Industries, KOGAS, Marsh, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Wison Offshore, Sevan Marine, WorleyParsons, Linklaters, Tozzi Industries, Veolia MPP Systems, International Paint and Holman Fenwick Willan are speaking at the event. They will discuss challenges and solutions, share project updates and the latest in FLNG technical and commercial advancements.
For the first time in oil and gas history, monetizing stranded fields is now made possible through FLNGs. The recent floating of the Prelude has also given investors confidence. However, numerous technical and commercial challenges continue to surround these novel projects.
Convened under the theme Technical and Commercial Innovations in FLNG, the congress will lay the agenda for innovation in FLNG projects. Solutions to liquefaction, containment and safety challenges will be discussed alongside new options for financing and insurance.
René Van Vliet, Chief Project Officer, NEXTDECADE and Former VP Global LNG, Shell will lead the stellar line-up of international speakers as chairperson at the congress. “Shell taking FID on Prelude FLNG was a major vote of confidence to the industry and FLNG developments have rapidly taken off since then; not only the number of parties undertaking an FLNG project but also in terms of technical developments. To work with IQPC Asia as the leading FLNG conference organiser and bringing together the key players in this fascinating stage of FLNG development and innovation is for me greatly motivating,” says René Van Vliet.
Øivin Iversen, CEO, Höegh FLNG, Norway and Paul Young, Chief Marketing Officer, EXMAR, Belgium will share rare insights on two FLNG projects currently under advanced stages of development.
Other notable international speakers include Stephen Thompson, LNG Manager, Poten & Partners, Australia (Understanding the Key Drivers Impacting FLNG in the Context of LNG Demand and Supply: The Prelude, Sarawak and Pacific-Rubiales Cases), Kees Willemse, Director Proposals & Technology Development, SBM Offshore, Norway (SBM’s novel midscale FLNG design), Eugene Eunsoo Kim, Director, Head of Structured Export Finance, Societe-General, CIB, Korea (A case study on K-ECA supported LNG project / Potential ECA support for FLNG investment) and Herbert Moon, Technical Director, Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME), Korea (Examining the Construction Reliability and Commissioning Challenges).
The congress will feature an exclusive case study by Ramesh Nair, Estimating Manager, Wison Offshore, Malaysia on the world’s first offshore barge (A 1st Vessel New Build Barge in the industry located offshore Andhra Pradesh).
This two-day event will be flanked by five focused workshops on how to ensure successful technical and commercial FLNG project execution. These pre and post congress workshops include:
