Gazprom, Poland discuss gas sector cooperation

Alexey Miller of Gazprom met with Katarzyna Pelczynska-Nalecz, Ambassador of Poland to Russia.

They discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation in the gas sector, Russian natural gas supplies to Poland as well as its transit via the Polish section of the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline.

It was pointed out that Poland was the largest consumer of Russian natural gas in Central Europe and an important transit route to consumers in Western Europe,” Gazprom said in a statement.

In addition, the meeting touched on the start of the autumn/winter period in Russia. It was pointed out that in the middle of October the settled weather almost across the whole European part of Russia was much colder than usual, which resulted in record-breaking gas supplies to Russian consumers via the Unified Gas Supply System, the company added.
