Gazprom secures 2 billion euro loan from Bank of China

Russian gas giant Gazprom said Thursday it has secured a five-year 2 billion euro loan from Bank of China’s London branch.

This is Gazprom’s largest-ever direct loan from one financial institution and the first bilateral loan facility agreement with a Chinese bank, the company said in a statement.

Gazprom did not reveal for what purpose the loan will be used.

The deal was signed in Shanghai  by Gazprom’s Deputy Management Committee Chairman Andrey Kruglov and the Deputy General Manager of Bank of China’s London branch, Wang Huabin.
