French LNG containment specialist, GTT, has been contracted to deliver its membrane containment system for a new carrier being built by South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries.

The vessel will have a capacity of 180,000 cubic meters of the chilled fuel.

LNG carrier for a European shipowner is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2020, according to a GTT statement.

GTT noted that the Mark III Flex+ solution enables a daily boil-off rate of 0.07 percent.

The newbuild tanker will be the second that is equipped with this technology.
