Japan: spot LNG contracted in Aug at USD 11.4 per mmBtu

Japan’s price of spot LNG that is contracted in August averaged $11.4 per mmBtu on DES basis, the country’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) said in a statement.

The average price of spot LNG imported into Japan that arrived in August is $12.5 per mmBtu,” according to the report.

Only spot LNG cargoes are taken into account in its assessment, excluding short-, medium- and long-term contract cargoes, as well as those linked to a particular price index, it added.
