Kuwait Inks LNG Deal with Qatar

Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has reportedly signed a contract with Qatargas to buy liquefied natural gas from the world’s largest producer of LNG to help meet its energy needs to the end of 2014.

Qatargas will send the first LNG shipment to Kuwait on Monday, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

The contract was signed in Doha on Sunday to crown two years of talks with Qatargas, KUNA cited KPC’s Managing Director for International Marketing Nasser Al-Mudhaf as saying.

Terms of the LNG import deal were not revealed.
