Lithuania eyeing investment in Iranian LNG projects

Lithuania has shown interest in taking part in Iranian LNG projects, according to Amir Hossein Zamaninia, deputy petroleum minister in international affairs and trading.

Following a meeting with Lithuania’s deputy energy minister Aleksandras Spruogis, Zamaninia said Lithuania offered technological assistance for Iran’s liquefied natural gas projects.

Lithuania also offered to invest in Iran’s LNG projects, National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) informed.

Besides LNG, Lithuania showed interest in cooperating in shale oil and shale gas fields as well as interest to import crude oil and oil products from Iran.

Iranian official noted, the country will take the Lithuanian offer into consideration due to the experience it has in the field of liquefied natural gas.
