Lithuania’s PM sees Independence FSRU’s influence reach beyond Baltic

PM Butkevicius sees Indepencence FSRU's influence reach beyond the Baltic

Lithuania’s Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius attended the Lithuanian-Belarusian economic forum and called on the states to utilize the opportunity provided by the Klaipeda LNG terminal.

With the recent arrival of Hoegh LNG’s FSRU Independence, Lithuania has the possibility to supply gas to the Baltic states cutting the independence on Russian gas.

But Butkevičius further informed the forum about the Klaipeda LNG terminal saying that it may serve as a good alternative supply of gas not only for the Baltic states, but other interested states too, in case of need.

Prime Minister also said that Belarusian companies are invited to use the port facilities seeing the port as a great opportunity for Belarus to export their products to European markets.
