NASSCO lays keel for SEA-Vista's third LNG-ready tanker

San Diego-based shipbuilder General Dynamics NASSCO recently held the keel laying ceremony for LNG-conversion-ready product tanker for SEA-Vista, a SEACOR Holdings and Avista Capital Partners company.

The vessel, named Liberty is a part of a three ECO class tankers contract with the SEA-Vista, General Dynamics NASSCO said in its statement.

The Liberty is a 610-foot, 50,000 deadweight-ton, LNG-conversion-ready product tanker with a 330,000 barrel cargo capacity.

The construction of the vessel began in October 2015, NASSCO said. When delivered, the tanker will be operated by Seabulk Tankers.

The third tanker in the series has been designed by DSEC, a subsidiary of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) of Busan, South Korea, the tanker will feature a G-series MAN ME slow-speed main engine and an optimized hull form.
