Peru ships LNG cargo to Spain

Peru’s only liquefaction and export facility at Pampa Melchorita on Monday dispatched a cargo of liquefied natural gas to Spain.

According to the shipping data released by the state-owned Perupetro, the 138 000 cbm Sestao Knutsen LNG carrier left the liquefaction plant on May 9.

The 2007-built LNG carrier delivered its last two loads from the Peruvian export plant to Mexico’s Manzanillo LNG terminal. The exact destination of the latest cargo has not been revealed.

The two last cargoes with confirmed destinations to Spain have been delivered to the Bilbao LNG terminal while the destination of the Methane Lydon Volney that sailed to Spain on April 13 has not yet been confirmed.

With the latest shipment, Peru’s 4.4 mtpa liquefaction plant dispatched 326 cargoes in total, since it began operations in June 2010.
