Republic Services bolsters its CNG fleet

Republic Services bolsters its CNG fleet

Republic Services added 14 new CNG solid waste and recycling trucks to its fleet bringing the total number of its CNG trucks in the greater Puget Sound area to 109.

The new CNG trucks replace older diesel-powered trucks. Republic Services first installed a natural gas fueling station at its Bellevue location in 2010, and recently completed construction to expand CNG truck capacity at the station.

Republic Services operates a fleet of more than 2,200 CNG vehicles and 38 natural gas fueling stations nationwide. Approximately 50 percent of all Republic vehicles purchased in 2014 are powered by this domestic fuel source.
