Stranded whale watching vessel, Cetacea, was finally freed by U.S. Coast Guard that ensured the safe return of the vessel to Boston.
“Original reports indicated that a lobster pot line was caught in the propeller, but further analysis revealed it was a cable from Northeast Gateway’s offshore facility which required additional dive resources and heavy duty equipment for removal,” reveals U.S. Coast Guard report.
Excelerate Energy’s Northeast Gateway Deepwater Port is located 13 miles from shore in Massachusetts Bay. It consists of a dual submerged turret-loading buoy system and an approximately16-mile pipeline connecting to the existing HubLine pipeline operated by Algonquin Gas Transmission.
