Wartsila and Rolls-Royce End Merger Talks

Finland’s Wartsila, whose engines power more than 100 LNG tankers,  said it is no longer in merger discussions with Rolls-Royce.

We confirm the approach by Rolls-Royce with a preliminary proposal for a possible offer for the company. In case the company receives such proposals, the Wärtsilä Board has an obligation to evaluate such proposals,” the company said in a statement.

However, we confirm that there are no longer ongoing discussions with Rolls-Royce,” the company added.
