WCC LNG enters into EA stage

Canada’s Environmental Assessment Office informed that the WCC LNG was requested to enter into the environmental assessment process for the proposed LNG project in Canada.

WCC LNG proposes to construct and operate a liquefied natural gas export facility and associated marine terminal located on the eastern shore of Tuck Inlet on the Tsimshian Peninsula. The facility at full build-out would have a storage capacity of approximately 1,600,000m3 and would produce up to 30 million tonnes per year of liquefied natural gas, stands in the filing.

The proposed project may have a potential significant adverse environmental, economic, social, heritage or health effect, taking into account practical means of preventing or reducing to an acceptable level, any potential adverse effects of the proposed project.

The project assessment manager, therefore ordered that the proposed project requires an environmental assessment certificate and is not allowed to proceed with the project without the assessment, stand in the filing.

The current shareholders of WCC LNG are ExxonMobil and Imperial Oil Resources, an Imperial Oil Company unit.
