WE Tech Solutions of Finland informed it has recently received an order to deliver its direct-drive permanent magnet shaft generator solution for ESL Shipping’s 25,600 dwt dual-fueled handysize bulk carriers.
A statement by the company reveals the contract includes an option for two additional direct-drive permanent magnet shaft generator solutions.
The two ice-class 1A vessels are currently being built at the Qingshan Shipyard of Sinotrans & CSC SBICO in China.
Finnish ESL Shipping claims the two ships are the first LNG dual-fueled handysize bulk carriers in the world.
The delivery from WE Tech is scheduled for March 2017 while the vessels will begin operation in the Baltic Sea in early 2018.
