Wheatstone LNG dredging boosts Great Lakes profit

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation of the USA said its revenue increased 10.3% to $806.8 million in 2014, bolstered by completion of the company’s subcontract work on the Wheatstone LNG dredging project in Australia.

The company has, in cooperation with DEME, secured a subcontract in 2012 to dredge the approach channel, the maneuvering area, and the berths for the Chevron-operated Wheatstone LNG project near the town of Onslow.

The work included dredging more than 26 million cubic meters of material. Great Lakes was responsible for mechanical dredging on the giant LNG project.
